On my way to Japan

Sometimes dreams come true …. and I have long been dreaming to stand one day under a blooming cherry tree in Japan. In the past years I have never had the time to travel so far nor earned enough money with my humble project which is Open Studio 79.
But a few months ago I saw a post at the web page of Loop of the loom, a Saori weaving studio in New York, which I follow as my fascination for this type of free style weaving and philosophy behind it is huge. A JAPAN TEXTILE TOUR was announced and as I looked through the program my eyes kept opening and my heart was saying: “This is your dream trip !”
Algunas veces los sueños se hacen realidad …. Y hace mucho que sueño com poder estar un día bajo las ramas de un cerezo en flor en Japón. En los últimos años nunca tuve el tiempo de viajar tan lejos, ni me alcanzaba el dinero de mi humilde proyecto que es Open Studio 79 para emprender un viaje así.
Pero hace un par de meses vi un post en la página web de Loop of the Loom, un estudio de telares Saori en Nueva York, el cual me fascina por su filosofía y la libertad a la hora de tejer que lo acompaña. Anunciaban un TOUR TEXTIL POR JAPÓN y así como leía el programa de viaje mis ojos no paraban de abrirse y mi corazón me decía: “ ¡Este es el viaje de tus sueños ! “

Esta es la predicción de Floración del Cerezo 2019. - Como este año el invierno ha sido más cálido que la media, se espera que este año la floración se adelante un poco.
I will be leaving on March 21st traveling first to Osaka, where I will meet Yukako, the founder of Loop of the Loom and the rest of the group. Then to Kyoto, Tokushima, Onimichi, Okayama, Naoshima, Nagoya, Tokyo and back again on April 5th. For sure I have a lot to tell you when I am back and of course it will be a pleasure sharing with you all my learnings from Japanese artisan. I will try to post some impressions of my trip with you at my IG account, but I am specially looking forward to tell you about my experience in person once I am back. Until then ….

Emprenderé mi viaje el 21. de marzo hacia Osaka, donde me reuniré con Yukako, la fundadora de Loop of the Loom y el resto del grupo. Luego viajaremos hacia Kyoto, Tokushima, Onimichi, Okayama, Naoshima ,Nagoya, Tokyo y de regreso a Palma el 5 de abril. A mi vuelta seguro que tendré mucho que contaros y sobre todo, será un placer compartir todo lo aprendido con los artesanos japoneses. Intentaré mostraros algo en mi cuenta de IG, pero sobre todo espero poder contaroslo en persona de regreso a OS79. Hasta entonces…
