, again at OPENstudio79, where she will offer two amazing
embroidery workshops
. I was very excited when some months ago Adriana asked me to make a stop at my studio in Mallorca as part of her 2017 workshop tours. It is a real honor for me to be able to offer to the Mallorcan crafters this opportunity: to learn from one of the most renowned contemporary embroidery artists from around the world.

Adriana ya impartió hace unos años un taller en el estudio, en el que nos enseñó a crear una paleta de colores armónica y a crear imágenes cargadas de expresión y vida tan sólo utilizando aguja e hilo. En esta ocasión, Adriana ha preparado
dos talleres de bordado muy especiales
. En el primero enseñará diferentes puntos de bordado en relieve utilizando su pieza
"Mi gatita ama volar"
; durante el segundo se centrará en crear
"Fantásticas melenas aleonadas"
sobre un bastidor previamente agujereado. (Mira la imagen arriba).
We already enjoyed having her some years ago where she shared with all of us her knowledge on how to create a harmonious color palette and how to create images with thread and needles, that were full of expression and live. For this occasion Adriana has prepared
two special workshops
, one to learn embroidery stitches in high relief performed in her
"My little cat loves to fly"
piece and another workshop, where we will create
"Fantastic Liony Manes"
on a wooden taboret provided with holes. (see image above)

Estos dos talleres están dirigidos a
personas que estén acostumbradas a bordar sobre tela, pero las principiantes son más que bienvenidas
. Es una oportunidad única de poder aprender de mano de una artista que tiene además gran experiencia enseñando y compartiendo sus habilidades y conocimientos con personas a las que les encanta trabajar con sus manos. Su tour de talleres pasará por ciudades como Sao Paulo, Londres, Berlín, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid y me encanta que Mallorca y mi estudio se sumen a este listado tan especial.
Both workshops are orientated to
people who love to stitch on fabric
, but
total beginners are also welcome
. It will be a unique opportunity to learn along this artists who is experienced in teaching and sharing her skills with people who love to create things with their hands. During her tour of workshops she will be teaching at awesome places in cities as Sao Paulo, London, Berlin, Zürich, Barcelona, Madrid and we are very excited to have her again with us here on the island.
Las cosas que más me gustan del trabajo de Adriana son esas
preciosas paletas de color tan delicadas

facilidad para dotar de vida a los personajes que ella misma ilustra
. Sus criaturas parecen cobrar vida y contarnos un cuento en un escenario mágico compuesto por puntos diminutos sobre una delicada tela de lino o algodón.
One of the things I love about Adriana's work is how she creates such
beautiful and delicate
color palettes at her works
, but also her ability to
infuse life
to her little characters that she has previously drawn on paper. Her creatures seem to come real and tell us a story on the fine linen or cotton canvas placed in a magical scene composed by many tiny stitches.
Ha sido capaz de crear su propio lenguaje e imaginario visual de personajes, algunos de ellos se han hecho tan populares que incluso han sido merecedores de algunos prestigiosos premios. Ha colaborado con importantes marcas, ha creado juguetes preciosos, objetos de decoración e incluso ¡ha diseñado prendas de punto!
Han publicado su trabajo, junto al de otros artistas, en el libro
"The New Artisans" de Thames y Hudson
, y se ha podido ver su obra muchas exposiciones y ferias de diseño como en
Maison & Object
, donde representaba a Argentina.
She has created her own visual language and "imaginary" of characters, some of them have become very popular and with whom she has earned important prizes already. She has collaborated with important brands, creating beautiful toys, interior design objects and even knitwear!
Her work has been published by
Thames and Hudson in "The New Artisans"
book amongst other and she has been present at many exhibitions and Design Fairs as
Maison & Object,
representing the Argentinian Pavilion.

artista, ilustradora, arquitecta y diseñadora gráfica, además de una madre cariñosa y atenta
a su preciosa hija. Tuve el placer de conocerla cuando Adriana vino al estudio y ella aún era una niña. Esta vez Adriana nos visita sola, pero viene cargada de entusiasmo y ganas de transmitiros a todos su amor por las cosas hechas con mimo y energía positiva.
I could go on and on telling you more about this amazing woman :
artist, illustrator, architect & graphic designer but also loving mother
of her beautiful daughter. I met on her last visit to my studio when she was still a little girl. This time she is coming on her own, but as always full of enthusiasm and willing to transmit to you all her knowledge and love for things that are done with care, slowly and full of beautiful energy.
